Whew...don't see a picture like that everyday....

Well today I went to the hospital to have my "dye test" done. It's actually called a Hysterosalpingogram or HSG for short. I was prepared for it to be incredibly painful and to have lots of pain afterwards. I won't lie....the actual procedure was pretty darned uncomfortable. I was close to tears when it was over. However, once I have gotten home, I feel pretty good - intermittent cramping but pretty tolerable

Apparently I had extra cramping because the radiologist couldn't get the catheter in as far as he'd like to....oh well, I survived.

When it was done, I sat up and the radiologist showed me the images. My first thought, which of course came spilling out of my mouth, was, "Wow, don't get to see pictures of yourself like that very often." The radiologist was really awesome and started joking with me about it. He says, "If you'd like we can print them out for you!" I said, "Certainly, I'd like to hang them in the bedroom." Ha!

Luckily, the result of the HSG test was everything I was hoping for. The images showed that everything looked great and nothing was blocked....everything looks to be just the way it should be. I was quite happy!

So, apparently the results from Shooter's test should be sitting at my doctor's office right now. I have a call in to see if they'll let me know what it says.

Well....the adventure continues.....

Later lovelies!
L.

The best part of the adventure is the discovery you make at the end, and my hope for you two is definitely the discovery of a baby! I'm pleased your work up today went off well. Now take it easy and enjoy some rest!

Country Girl - You just don't know how I'm looking forward to all that stuff. Well, I think you do. I know I'm going to share more than most of you guys will want to know when it hopefully happens.

Bekah - Sometimes I resort to humor at inappropriate times. At that point what do you do when your uterus and fallopian tubes are on a screen being discussed like they're a map to Texas. Ha!

FADKOG - I certainly hope we find out in a couple months that we have a little one on the way. It would make for an awesome gift for sure.

*hugs* to all of you!

I wanna see the pictures !!!

I bet I can see a butterfly or a person sitting in the rain on a park bench under an unbrella eating a tuna sandwich on rye hold the mayo in it just like a Rorschach Inkblot Test (lol)

Glad to hear that your doctor has a sense of humor... but 'catheter' and 'dye' do not sound like fun combinations. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

sounds a bit like my husbands colonoskopy (totally didn't spell that right). Not good times.

I'm excited for you two. Hope everything turns out great and you too can join the preggo band wagon! We still need a bass player.....

I'm holding my breath until you update us. My figurative breath because it might take you awhile and I might die in the meantime and then my blog will be open to the public to say nasty things! Shit, I'm so paranoid.

This is about you dammit. Let us know! Hopefully soon you'll have a bun in the oven...or 6 like Jon & Kate (if you want). Yes, it's unexplainable. I don't want kids but I adore that show! They're pretty awesome people huh!?

K, c-ya!

I had to go through that too. I went into it thinking it would be more painful than it was. My RE's nurse aprn did it and she was so gentle. I ended up having surgery because my results looked funny, but after a few cycles of fertility drugs I had my beautiful daughter!!!

If you ever need to talk ttc, come by and see me...

Hi there, I came by via country mouse's blog.
