There's no turning back now....

Yup...there is certainly no turning back now....

This is the carpet and padding from our master bathroom. *sigh* I guess we have to move forward with the plan to put down the tile now. :-)

And here is the master bathroom, all bare, concrete floors, looking very sad. But very, very soon it will be a grand room and we're all very excited about that!

My vanity....honestly, I hate it. It's pretty non-functional. But we're not doing a MAJOR remodel so I will have to live with it.

Ugh. DOUBLE UGH!! I am so over this beach theme. I mean, I love the beach as much as the next person, but after awhile it just gets old. Oh, and the peachy pink walls...triple UGH.

Also, the lady who decorated this house LOVED wallpaper border. EVERY room had it....well, the master bath, guest bath, two guest rooms have a border and the kitchen is fully wallpapered with a border. Jeepers. I actually love that Roman Shade...just not the colors.

Ahhh...my strong, handsome Shooter. He's having to pry up some border that the carpet was stapled into. Yea, I am a remodeling fool, I know all the insider terminology. This week we'll have to pull up the existing tile around the toilet and then scrape up the mortar under the tile. We'll also have to scrape up the glue and bits of pad that are remaining on the concrete. And of course by saying "we" I mean "Shooter". ;-)

I am definitely looking forward to keeping you guys updated. Next weekend the guys come to lay the tile. So I can post more next weekend. After that we have to pick the wall color and paint. Fun fun fun!!!!

The lady that owned our house 2 owners before us loved wallpaper border too!!! The sad thing is the owners RIGHT before us painted over it instead of removing it...now it's starting to come off...haha, so looks like we might be doing a few projects as well :)

That's a scary pile of carpet. I didn't know you were doing all THAT.

My big mouth suggested that we get my boyfriend's mom new carpet for her living room and hallway for her birthday. That crap is expensive! So now it's her mothers day/birthday present. Still too much money. She better bake me some brownies or something to make up for it!

I can't wait until we have our own house so we can remodel every once in a while. Keep us updated so I can feel productive through you! :)

Julia - eww...the only thing worse than wallpaper is painted over wallpaper. Good luck with that!!

Di - oh yea...it happened really fast because we decided we wanted it finished before small group starts at the house and my parents come visit. Oh joy!

Jen - Wow...yea, good carpet isn't cheap. I'm not a fan of carpet though, especially after this house. We have laminates or tile all through the main part of the house and I LOVE it - it's especially nice with the dogs.

Remodeling is so much fun! Not the actual doing it, but the end result, I mean!

Yea, the actual doing sucks...I should take pictures of my bedroom to show you the complete mess in there! That's where everything from the bathroom now resides. Ugh!!!!!
