Every Sunday my heart grows a little more

Well, this past Sunday was our turn to tie up work with the kids in the preschool area of our church. I swear, every Sunday I grow to love these kids more and more. We have a couple of twin boys who are the most adorable things since puppies. They both have to give you big ole hugs before they leave...just tear my heart out, would ya? Also, I have another little boy who gives me this huge hug when he comes in....and always has to go color with Miss Laura. Well, I love to color, this gives me an excuse to do so and not get looked at weird. Also, there's one little girl who I adore, she has these ringlets that are to die for and the most beautiful eyes. She's got a heart of gold and unfortunately I made her cry one Sunday - it nearly broke my heart. We were talking about how when we die we'll go to heaven and be with Jesus - and she started to tear up and said that she didn't ever want to leave her parents, she loved her parents, she didn't want to go anywhere without her parents, she was living with her parents forever. She might as well have jerked out my heart and stomped on it right there. She came back though!

It just makes my day to see these little 4 year old kids understanding Bible stories and learning. They always say the darndest things...like how Jesus probably ate peanut butter crackers at The Last Supper. Who knows...maybe He did.... :-)

They can sure tug at your heart. I have two 4 year old grandchildren who are cousins, and they are always saying and doing things that just make my heart melt.

I worked in our junior worship this weekend, so a step above preschool age. They're a fun bunch, but hard to keep their attention. I get to color and share the love with the preschoolers at the end of the month!

Scott: I do not have kids yet. We're trying as we both really do want children. Hopefully we'll get blessed with one.

I definitely recommend spending some time with preschoolers. 4 year olds are totally awesome. 3 year olds are hysterical. 2 year olds, well they poop a lot and babble incessently and are super cute. It's a fun time!

Kids are so cute at that age! And they have that innocence to them. :)

This is so sweet. I LOVE the peanut butter and crackers comment. Doesn't it add a whole new element to that painting? I'll never look at The Last Supper the same way again. I'll imagine their plates with little round Ritz crackers, some arranged in a circle, some stacked on top of each other. Kids are awesome.
